Instantly review · good on $97, cramped on $47

Instantly is a good cold email tool on the $97 Hypergrowth plan. On the $47 Growth plan it holds 1,000 people for life. Pick by how many people you add.

The short answer

Instantly is worth it if you will email more than 1,000 people and buy the $97 Hypergrowth plan. On the $47 Growth plan, it works more like a trial. If you keep every lead or run cold email for clients, use Smartlead instead.

Instantly is a sequencer. A sequencer is the tool that sends your cold email steps over several days, from many inboxes, and collects the replies.

Before you trust an Instantly review, check which plan it is about, because Growth and Hypergrowth work very differently for a team.

What the $47 Growth plan gives you

Growth is $47 a month. It holds 1,000 uploaded contacts and sends 5,000 emails a month.

An uploaded contact is one person you have added to a campaign. Instantly's help page calls the limit a "fixed total, not a monthly allowance." People from old campaigns still count, whether the campaign is active, paused, finished or a draft.

Growth includes unlimited email accounts with warmup. Warmup means sending small safe mail so new inboxes look normal before cold volume.

Two things are missing on Growth. The Unibox, Instantly's shared reply inbox, is preview only. Webhooks are not included. A webhook is an automatic message to your other tools when something happens, like a reply.

you'll have to use the 97/mo plan on instantly cause 47/mo only allows 1000 uploaded contacts.

What the $97 Hypergrowth plan adds

Hypergrowth is $97 a month. It holds 25,000 uploaded contacts. Webhooks start here.

There is no overage, which is a small fee for going a little past your limit. If you go over, you move up a plan. The math: contact number 1,001 on Growth moves you from $47 to $97, which is $50 more a month.

From Hypergrowth up, you can add 25,000 more contacts for $87 a month.

What a reply costs on Hypergrowth

Take a team that adds 10,000 new people over one quarter on Hypergrowth.

Newlead is an outbound agency that publishes its client results. Its US clients averaged a 1.66% reply rate in its 2026 report.

The math: 3 months × $97 = $291. 10,000 people × 1.66% = about 166 replies. $291 ÷ 166 = about $1.75 per reply in tool cost.

The math on Growth: 1,000 people × 1.66% = about 17 replies. After that, you must delete old leads or upgrade.

So the tool is cheap per reply once you are on Hypergrowth. Your data and your inboxes will cost more than Instantly does.

One sender's real campaign

An automation builder who sells outbound services posted the numbers from one Instantly campaign.

Just wrapped up this campaign using Instantly with these numbers: Total Sent: 37.8K Open Rate: 20.01% Reply Rate: 1.25% Opportunities: 90 qualified leads…

That is one campaign from one seller. Treat it as one example.

@mathlleu on X, October 12, 2026 counted 22 reply-rate benchmark posts in one week, all from vendors. When you read a benchmark, look for how many emails it counted and when.

Two clocks run at once

Instantly also sells credits. A credit is the unit Instantly charges for extra jobs, like finding leads and writing AI replies. An AI reply costs 5 credits. Finding a work email costs about 1.5.

On a monthly plan, unused credits expire 2 months after you buy them.

So you have two clocks. The contact limit never resets. The credits run out after 2 months.

Who should pick Smartlead instead

Smartlead is another sequencer. It charges for stored people too, but its plans hold more of them for the price.

If you keep every lead you add, Smartlead Base holds 2,000 contacts for $39, and Pro holds 30,000 for $94. If you run campaigns for clients, Smartlead sells white-label at $29 per client from Pro. White-label means your client sees your brand on the tool.

What to do this week

Count the people you will email this quarter. Then pick the plan.

  • If you are solo, will email fewer than 1,000 people and delete old campaigns, use Instantly Growth at $47.
  • If you will email more than 1,000 people, use Instantly Hypergrowth at $97.
  • If you keep every lead or run campaigns for clients, use Smartlead.
