Smartlead pricing · Fair Use caps, white-label, and the real agency bill

Unlimited is marketing. Fair Use mailbox caps, $29 white-label per client, Smart-suite add-ons, and the mailbox third invoice that sit under Base through Prime.

Smartlead sells four plan stickers. Agencies still pay a fifth and sixth invoice.

The pricing page leads with unlimited connected accounts. A separate Fair Use Policy sets mailbox ceilings. White-label workspaces, Smart-suite add-ons, and mailbox rent sit under the sticker. Unlimited is a marketing word. The real agency bill is Fair Use plus white-label plus boxes.

Fair Use caps sit under “unlimited mailboxes”

Smartlead’s Fair Use Policy (effective 2026-02-01) lists mailbox thresholds. Basic 100. Popular 300. Pro 800. Exceeding may need approval. Smartlead may refuse or restrict.

Plan names on the pricing page (Base / Pro / Unlimited Smart / Unlimited Prime) do not map one-to-one to those Fair Use labels. Treat the published caps as the ceiling family. Confirm which SKU maps to which Fair Use label before you size a fleet. Plan against about 70% of the cap, not against the word unlimited.

SendKit cites the same 100 / 300 / 800 numbers in a competitor teardown. Label that bias. The caps themselves are on Smartlead’s legal page.

Four stickers · white-label is the forgotten line

Monthly floors today are Base $39, Pro $94, Unlimited Smart $174, and Unlimited Prime $379. Annual billing lands near $32.5 / $78.3 / $144.5 / $314.6 per month. The page cites about a 17% save on annual.

Base is a solo sequencer seat. It has no API and no white-label path for agencies. Pro is where white-label opens. White-label (your brand on the client portal) costs $29 per client workspace per month. Unlimited Prime includes three workspaces in the plan fee. Extra clients still add $29 each.

Five clients on Pro ≈ $94 + 5 × $29 = $239 per month before infra. That is operator arithmetic on published stickers, not a universal agency ledger.

Third invoice · boxes and domains

Warmup on the plan is not free Google or Microsoft. Every mailbox still needs a license. Domains still renew.

SmartSenders on the pricing page prints Zapmail-powered fresh boxes near $4.50 per mailbox per month plus about $13 per domain per year. Pre-warmed bands near $9. Those labels move. Confirm live.

Prefer the live inbox path over SmartSenders as the primary buy. Open Zapmail, Inboxkit, or Premium Inboxes. Then connect into Smartlead.

Smart-suite add-ons · $39 is sequencer-only

Base at $39 stays cheap if you only need the sequencer (the tool that sends email steps over days). Bundle-assumers get surprised.

SmartServers list at $39 per server per month. Verified prospect email packs list near $59 per month. SmartDelivery and Ultra Premium warmup can enter the bill too. SendKit claims real stacks often land $150–$400 per month once those layers stack. That band is a competitor claim, not an audited average. The published add-on stickers are real. Model them before you tell finance the plan is $39.

Help centre send ceilings (updated 2026-08-21) still exist on “unlimited” plan names. Base about 6k sends. Pro about 90k. Unlimited Smart about 150k. Unlimited Prime about 500k. Unlimited in the product name is not infinite sends.

Annual helps · it does not erase white-label or boxes

Prime on annual still sits near $314.6 per month. Base on annual sits near $32.5. The gap stays huge. Annual is a discount on a stable fleet. It does not remove $29 client workspaces or mailbox rent.

Pay annual when client count and inbox count are steady. Stay monthly while you are still resizing.

Instantly is a $3 peer fight · not the thesis

Instantly Hypergrowth near $97 versus Smartlead Pro at $94 is an ops split. UI and lead workflows on one side. Isolation, white-label, and API on the other. Do not crown a $3 winner. Agencies often run both. Keep Instantly as a peer note. The money path here is Smartlead plus the inbox trio.

What to change this week

Read the Fair Use page before you buy “unlimited” mailboxes. Sketch five clients on Pro as $239 before infra. Add SmartServers and verified-email packs if those jobs are in scope. Buy boxes on the live inbox path, not only through SmartSenders.

Next · Smartlead vs Instantly puts the two side by side · Inbox providers helps you choose mailboxes · Cold email sequencers has other sending tools.
